What kind of answers are they really looking for on a personality test at a job screening?
Honestly....it does no justice to a candidate to be personality screened and denied even a shot at an interview...I know i'm a nice and trustworthy enough guy, but how to prove that to a computer?
What kind of answers are they really looking for on a personality test at a job screening?
Piano Dude,
You are completely right that these personality tests for jobs are bogus! I actually wrote a paper on this topic for an industrial psyc class and most psychologists are totally against the practice.
First of all, personality tests are based on the assumption that every personality can be boiled down to a set of types or traits, however there is no real proof for this theory. Second of all, even if a personality test is a valid measure of a person, there is no real way to figure out which types are best for which jobs. For instance, the Myers-Briggs test says that I'm a very strong introvert, which I agree with. I need plenty of time to myself and enjoy solitary activities like reading and hiking. However, when necessary I can act like an extravert. As a matter of fact, my job is selling Pampered Chef products, so I go to parties for a living. The point is, just because the test classifies you as one type doesn't mean that you can't function well in many different types of situations.
Most of the time, the reason businesses are using personality tests for hiring purposes is because the execs making the decisions are looking for quick and easy answers. Therefore, they are easily swayed by pop-psychologists who base their work on little or no research. I've met so many of these managers in the work force! Anyway, it's not beneficial to you to take the test, and many applicants leave the test feeling hurt and disrespected. The hiring managers aren't doing themselves any favors either, because the tests cost a great deal of money and give very little in the way of useful information.
That being said, there are a few times when tests are legitimate for hiring purposes. This is when the test is used to prevent applicants with serious mental disorders such as skitzophrenia from being put into positions where they can pose a threat to others. The military and police screen with a test to help keep us safe. Sorry about going on and on, but I really do get peeved when personality tests are inapropriately used.
My advise would be to answer the questions honestly and consistantly. Most tests ask the same or similiar questions over and over to make sure you're being consistant. Many tests are also designed to "test" honesty and loyalty so don't admit it if you think that it's ok to lie to your boss or steal from the office. If you're applying for a job that requires an unusual personality trait (such as a telemarketer) you should think about what they're looking for and skew your answers accordingly. (I failed a personality test for a telemarketing job once but got the job anyway when I argued with the manager for 15 minutes about why the test was wrong!)
Hope this helps, and good luck with your job search!

Think of yourself as the person reading the answers...without knowing the person (you)who gave the answers what conclusion about that person would you come to??? Answer the questions the way you think they want them answered. Think of what to type BEFORE you type it. What position are you applying for???are they looking for a leader, a trainer, someone to fill a desk, someone to deal with customers all day??? Having that mindset prior to taking your test should help.

I work shifts and i am looking for a second job to help pay off debts i work earlies lates and some weekends?
Listen, whatever you do don't get caught up in doing something from home or over the internet. They're all scams, or should I say almost all of them. The only way to pay off debt on a steady basis is to quit making debt, and increase income. So, you're idea of taking on another job is brilliant. You're already working a full-time position so a part-time job will have to be FLEXIBLE around your current schedule, and trust me you will find one that will. You like computers and electronics try places like Best Buy and Circuity City. Like reading try any of the big book stores. Enjoy hardware try Lowes or Home Depot, and the list goes on and on. Seriously, the fast food joints will take anyone willing to work for 16 hrs a week, and they'll work around you provided you can get them your schedule at least two weeks ahead of time. I work two jobs, and it isn't always fun, but many of us have debts, need extra cash and working two jobs is a great way to do this. Just remember to do exactly what you set out to do, and that is pay off debt. Some people will take a second job and use the extra cash to buy more things, never getting out of the debt they intended! So, best of luck and those extra checks will help so much I promise!!!!
Reply:Instead of taking a second job, learn to budget more sensibly, %26amp; pay off what you can from the money you've got - set up a payment plan to your creditors, which allows you to pay off a little each month.

How do i gain convidence in looking for a job?
You have to be confidant in yourself.
Find out what are you good at and focus on those points during you interviews.
eg. I am good at speaking and am able to do presentations in a way that people understand. I let them know that.
As for points that need to be worked on, do just that. However, many make the mistake on focusing on only their bad points and lose confidence as a result.
An employer wouldn't mind if you are not good at something as long as you are willing to learn.
Also, please...when you bring across the fact that you are willing to learn, make sure you really are willing to learn.
eg. I'm not really good at doing financial paperwork. As a result, I might need someone to supervise me at the beginning.
Put yourself in your employers' shoes. If you are hiring, what will you be looking for?
btw, you'd be surprised by how charitable some employers are. Most important is not someone who is very good. but someone who is humble and willing to learn from their mistakes.
Reading some motivational books will help as well. Don't care about what the cynics say...focus on what those who became successful say....why listen to the cynics when all they have to show are their failures as well?
Conclusion: You must know what you are good at. and be willing to accept your flaws as a reason for learning something new.
Hope I helped.

I am a 16 year old looking for a job can anybody give me any tips on the best ways to find one that will hire?
Network, ask friends, family, and if a church goer members of the church if they know of anyone that is hiring someone of your age.
If at all possible when filling out an application, ask if you can talk to the manager a few minutes. Place on the application prior work that you may not been paid for (mowed yards, clean-up church, planted trees, sold items for school fund raisers and etc.)
Show a strong interest in the job.
Willing to learn new task.
State you are young and full of energy, will be a hard worker.
Employers are sometimes are reluctant to hire the youth because they are often not reliable. They take off to go to movies, on dates, and etc.
Assure the employer you will be reliable and work on flexible assignments.
Remember you are hired to
1. Solve more problems than you create or
2. Make the company money or
3. 1 and 2.
If you fill out an application and can not talk to the manager at that time. Call back the next day or two. Ask to talk to the manager, ask when she/he will be able to let you know if you are hired. Tell them you are best person for the job.

The only thing is that you have to ask permission to your school because they don't want that you fail your classes or grades. Of course ask permission to your parents too. Mac Donald's, Wendy's, Taco Bell, KFC, are some restaurants that would hire you.
Reply:You can check in your neighborhood and see if you can wash cars, cut the yard, also try the newspaper to deliver during weekends and now during the summer.

Looking for 2nd job, nothing degrading, and won't interfear with current job..any suggestions?
My husband and I are in a financial crunch, and I'm looking for something extra to bring in a little money. Any ideas of easy jobs, that won't affect my current 8:30-5:30 job. Nothing trashy.
SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE!
Looking for 2nd job, nothing degrading, and won't interfear with current job..any suggestions?
I've done both waitressing and retail as second jobs.
Waitressing pays a very low hourly wage weekly paycheck, but you walk out after each shift with cash in your hands. However, it's never the same amount. Some days I'd walk out with over a $100 after 4 hours and other times I'd work 8 hours and barely have $50. It's hard work and not everyone is pleasant. Some customers are downright rude.
For the most part, retail doesn't pay very well, but you have the luxury of a set schedule which allows you to ballpark how much you'll make every week. Some places even pay you time-and-a-half or double-time for working on Sundays or holidays. You may still encounter the rude customer, but you won't go home smelling like fries with tomato sauce on your shoes!
I'm wary of the online jobs, but only because I've never personally tried them. Best of luck to you!!
Reply:Hmmm, that's a hard one there. Try part time at Walgreens. I wouldn't put to much money that it will be the best time of your life.
Reply:Good Luck. My advice is just don't take a paper route.....the work is easy but the hours are crazy, and the pay sucks. You will lose alot of sleep. If you figure out a good alternative please let me know. I'm looking for a second job myself.

Reply:I know someone who delivered papers. It required getting up really early but it didn't interfere with their day job.
UPS also hires up around the holidays. They offer a lot of different shifts. I know someone who works there right now. It is not easy work (lots of lifting) but the hours are convenient for her and the pay isn't bad for a part-time job.
You might also check with some of your local caterers. They are pretty busy around the holidays. They usually need people nights and weekends and the work is pretty fun sometimes. My brother-in-law is a caterer and I've worked for him many times. For some of the holiday parties you just have to stand at a table and pour wine all night or walk around with appetizer trays.
Reply:Being a Server at Denny's, Sizzler, Carrows
With tips and everything you end up getting paid about
$10-20 bucks an hour. Often times more than a 9-5 job
Of course theres not really any moving up in the long run, but for a temp. job i'm sure it'll do.
You of course have to not care to smile all day long.
good luck.
Reply:Go for what teenagers go for. Those are the jobs that are only 3-4 hours at a time and after schoolish.
Waitress always seems to be a number one answer, but I think you could do better. Perhaps selling tickets at some concert place? Because it's an every once in a while job (Depending on where you work). Or a cashier at your local grocery store.
Just look at places that you frequent, ask what the job situation is, because if you CAN get a job there, then most of the time you also get a discount, which will help you even more with the situation.
Good luck!
Reply:Retail will get you home at an early hour but doesnt pay very well. I would suggest waitress at an upscale restaurant. The tips are good and the clients are not trashy. You could also be one of those people who give out samples at the groceries and club stores on weekends.
Reply:I would go to a tanning salon. They dont do much and they are usually open late.

With tips and everything you end up getting paid about
$10-20 bucks an hour. Often times more than a 9-5 job
Of course theres not really any moving up in the long run, but for a temp. job i'm sure it'll do.
You of course have to not care to smile all day long.
good luck.

How to get son back in school or try looking for a job?
my son quiet school last feb. He was 17 years old Now he is 18.he was in the 10th grade.I want him to get his ged or a job. How do I movide him ? I know you probley thinking take things away from him like his car%26amp; etc, I am not like that. %26amp; no i am not kicking him out. He is a good kid.
How to get son back in school or try looking for a job?
Oh no, you don't have to start taking things away....just stop enabling him. You are doing exactly what an enabler does for any addiction...allowing a behavior to continue. You say he's a good kid, but what's he doing all day? Not working and not learning. That doesn't sound like good kid material to me, sounds like he's practicing for a life time of mooching off his parents or a spouse.
What do you really want? People aren't motivated by anything but need...he doesn't need anything. He's got food, car, internet, whatever else you've provided. Does he clean house and do the dishes, cook meals, etc? Are you working to support him?
We don't know enough about your situation to say anything else.
Reply:Obviously, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Did you set a good example?
If you are not willing to dish out any kinds of punishment then you have to be ready for the results.
It seems to me that you let him do what he wants with no consequences. You can't get him back into school, not with that attitude.
But - you could always offer him money to go back to school, that seems more your style. Bribe him. It will work.
Reply:You don't need or want advice lady. you just don't want to push your little birdie out of the nest.
Reply:Tell him that a GED is good for him that he can get a better job that way. Then sit down and help him find a job.
Reply:If you love him, you need to hold him accountable, and set him up for success. If he is able to live with you, and not follow any rules, and have a car, and get you to pay his insurance, gas bill, etc, there IS no motivation to get a job and provide for himself.
You need to change before he will.
Reply:Well if you're not going to put your foot down then nothing is going to come out of it. Apparently he has been running things for quite a while. If you don't kick him out or take things away he will freeload forever.
He may be a good kid but he needs to know that his actions hold consequenses- good or bad. If you really love him you will teach him this. He will never learn to truely function in socitey if you don't teach him how. If it isn't you it will be the penal system.
I know, this is what my Aunt is dealing with EXACTLY!!!
Reply:He's 18, virtually a man. What does he think he should be doing with his life? What does he want to do with his life? What's happened that he isn't already excited about and motivated to do something about his future?
Was it a school environment or program that ignored his needs? Was it parents who didn't encourage any interests? Is it depression? It would be helpful to know how he ended up in such an unusual state, so that you can help him help himself past it.
Here's the bottom line - it's his life. He needs to provide you with a plan for his life. I don't think you should kick him out; he's very young and he's uneducated.
He should not have a car if he doesn't work unless he is using that car to help you. If you provide him with things like a car even tho he doesn't work or isn't getting his GED, then you have removed the motivation for him to work for things himself. However, you don't take it away because he isn't doing something, you don't give it because he isn't doing anything. That is, it should be a carrot, not a stick.
The biggest carrot has got to be what he wants to do with his life. Help him figure it out and help him work on a plan to get there and help him monitor himself so that he knows he's moving in the right direction.
Reply:He's not that good of a kid if he doesn't care about himself enough to do anything! And why'd he drop out?! Be honest with yourself about the circumstances. The only thing that would work is to give him an ultimatum to get a job, or go back to school (he can go to vocational school or community college without completing high school, perhaps that would be MORE motivating to him to know). He has to learn to sink or swim at this point
Reply:dzwomper is right! You *need* to start taking things away from him, for his own good! In this day and age, without at least a high school degree, your son is doomed to a life of failure, misery and hardship. It might already be too late, but you need to try to teach him about responsibility. At 18, he is legally an adult; whether you are "like that" or not is beside the point. As his mother, YOU have the responsibility to FORCE him make a tough choice: A. he can go back to school. B. he can get his GED. C. he can get a job and pay rent to you. or D. he can get out of your house and try fending for himself with his 10th grade education (and good luck to him)! You are his mother, not his pal. At this point, you are not doing him any favors by babying him. You say he's a "good kid," but if he doesn't turn his life around quickly, he's going to be nothing but a loser (at best)! At this point, tough love is the only hope this kid has. You are failing your son by NOT being "like that."

This is my side job and you could use it if you need.
This is for someone who uses internet often.
If you use this frequently, you could earn money easily.
The way that I can earn $2,000 for each month
Every hour, you can get 1dollor. If you want to earn more, you need to introduce this way to your friends or others as I am doing now.
You don鈥檛 need to put any your private information such as Social Security Number or Telephone numbers but address for getting checks.
By doing this, I realized that earning money is kind of easy even though it looks freak haha (I am just kidding)
I earn a lot and to earn more, I am writing this in English. (I am Korean though)
Recently, there are not many people who are joining this site.(So you need to do this quickly before many people know this. You will know the reason why you should join this club before others do)
There are some people who are earning $33,000 for every month from Cashsurfer-Company.
There is a view bar which is small bar and as long as you operate this view-bar, you earn money.
If you don鈥檛 believe, you may go now. I seriously don鈥檛 care. But, I am giving you a information for earning money.
After operating this view-bar, and informing this site for a month, I earned 1,263 dollars after tax. The next month, I earned 1,787dollars.
Feature.
In the view-bar of the left side, a man is walking, and the other side, there are advertisements. You don鈥檛 need to click advertisements but sometimes you need to click a man when he takes a rest. ( you should make him run~!)

If you join the above address you will be one of my referrals. You can just go to cashfiesta.com without being my referrals. However, since I am gold member of this site, if you become one of my referrals, you can have benefits as I have. So it is up to you. The benefit: For gold members, they can earn $1.666 per 1,000point. If you are just normal member, you earn $0.010 per 1000 point. Being gold member is kind of hard so it would be good idea to be my referrals so that you can have same benefits.

There are lots of jobs in Compton because of all of the warehouses and manufacturing plants along the 91. However, to get hired on the spot you need to be able to fill a need or have a needed skill.
If you have ever operated any machinery before, you can apply to be a journeyman machinist. This includes being able to operate or have operated table saws and drill presses. There are several jobs available along the 91 and 710 freeway down into Long Beach that requires machine operating capabilities.
If you are good with numbers, go to a temporary employment agency and sign up to be an inventory taker. They are hiring right now for people to start taking year-end inventory of warehouses, retail stores, and other places. One of my temp jobs was in Carson helping a new inventory manager count everything in his tool crib which included hundreds of die molds and blanks for making drill bits and screwdriver heads. (It's how I know about them hiring machinists all the time. I forget the name of the company, though) I also did inventory for mall stores and warehouses too.
If you are good with computers, go to a temp agency and sign up to do data entry. One crazy data entry job I did was for finding names and addresses in phone books for mailing lists.
If you are good with people, sign up at McDonald's. No, really. Fast food places now pay decent wages and have excellent training programs. (Shania Twain used to be a manager at McDonald's once upon a time, and every time she goes in to one now she automatically goes down the training checklist to rate her servers.) If you want something slower paced, look for a job in the ethnic restaurants in the strip malls. They have such great food, why not learn how they do it?
You have lots of options. It's just a matter of going out and finding them.
Reply:Go to the web site monster.com put in all your info and then it will allow you to search all the jobs in your area. It will even let you post a resume and send it to many of the employers that are offering jobs.
Happy job hunting!

Can I get an MBA in marketing if I major in economics? Or will it hurt me looking for a good marketing job?
Sure you can. You can actually get any undergraduate course and take an MBA after. Economics actually is a good undergraduate course to get before you get your MBA. Economics play a vital rule in Marketing. Economics play a major rule to determine product life cycles, buying patterns of your target consumers and consumer research. When you finish your economics course it will be easy for you to enter in the market research department or even be a market research analyst and you can actually get your MBA while working. Pursue economics as a course and you will easily get a job in marketing and your MBA course will be a walk in the park good luck
I'm looking for a job doing speech's w/music about drugs and abuse for schools and church's?
I wrote my first song when I was six years old, I beleive my song writing is a gift from God.I worked for 2 different shhool districts serving children with special needs. Many times I was asked to bring my guitar to various class rooms to share my music. It was always appreciated. In my last engagement I played before 800 middle school students (10/05), it went very well. I have letters of reconmendation from the prinicpal and the councler. I am now disabled so I can no longer do free engagements. I've also played for several church's free, but can no longer afford to do that. I thank you for any help you can give me. I am a 51 year old man the has seen and been through alot.

Nowadays Bush is looking for a job , what would you suggest at him?
Hmmmmm...let me see...
Grocery-store sacker?
But, then again, I really don't know.
Sacking groceries requires some IQ and he doesn't have any.
Hmmmmm.
That's a good question.
Maybe he can go to work in a casket-manufacturing plant...you know...to sew the lining in coffins.
Well...maybe not....'cause that would require a level of concentration that he doesn't possess...to keep from shooting himself with the nail-gun machine.
Hmmmm.
You've stumped me with this one.
I'll think about it and get back with you.
Nowadays Bush is looking for a job , what would you suggest at him?
Well #1 he isn't looking for a job he had one and in my opinion did a good job as anyone else has ever done with a lot more on his plate to have to deal with.No leave the poor man alone and let him retire just like you and I hope to someday do.......
Reply:My first suggestion is that you learn that you do not "suggest at" people. Second, Bush does not need a job. He has a lifetime pension and makes a lot from speaking.
Reply:He can have one of the 3+ million jobs Obama promised. Where are those anyway? He's got time to be on late night TV and show up on ESPN doing a B'ball bracket. How about he jumps on that campaign promise pronto.
Reply:Enlist in the military.
So he can lead by example for the causes he believes in so much.
Reply:something fitting of his qualities. I would suggest greeter at WalMart.
Reply:Why you gonna offer him one. Right now he is writing a book, and working on his Library.
Reply:Make lots of speeches for mega bucks and write books.
He's earned his retirement.
Reply:So are many in his administration. But I wouldn't hire him to walk my dog.
Reply:He's pretty good at clearing brush. It's hard, hard work.
Reply:He should go back to school.

My wife and I are looking for a legitimate online part time job doing data entry, what is out there?
Looking to earn some extra money!!!! and we are looking to do some data entry jobs. What links are available for us to go to and find a legitimate part time job. Something we can do around 20 hours a week. Everything I have found seems to be a dead end offer. I have heard of people that actually do this but we can't seem to find the for real offers.
My wife and I are looking for a legitimate online part time job doing data entry, what is out there?
That's because people doing it aren't doing it through some website. They started a home business offering data entry and transcription services, and then promoted their services to local and regional professional offices.
Most of these online deals are scams. They'll have you pay for some "list" or "e-book" that does nothing but line their pockets. Don't get suckered in by that.

There are services out there that do these types of jobs and are always recruiting new people.
Real jobs dont charge you money up front. They will always as for information like your tax status and things like that. Often fake companies are only interested in your credit card #.

There are NO legitimate "data entry" jobs that advertise online as such and there are NO legitimate companies that will refer you to these types of jobs for a fee.
Reply:Work-at-Home ads usually don't pay off. Be especially
wary of ads that promise huge annual salaries; they
often require expensive upfront fees with no guarantee.
You risk losing your money and wasting a lot of time

Reply:If you are an accomplished typist - word processor and have recently visited your local city college or university librarian, you can apply as a "certified" graduate typist, earning between $1.50 to $2.00 per page for a master or doctoral thesis. The librarian will provide you with a sample of the typing template (i.e., margin settings, font selection, page set up, etc.) in order to complete these projects. An average weekend income is about $300-$400 for two days work.

My son is looking for a job as an animator in the computer industry as a concept artist?
This website has job posting for concept artwork for video games:
http://www.gamasutra.com
Also, visiting nearly any game developer's website can yield these types of jobs. Often these positions are needed, and not advertised. He may want to consider cold-contacting them or sending them a portfolio telling them he's interested in work. Good luck!
Reply:Good for him. I hope he gets one.
Reply:Erm, this is'nt a recruitment site...
(However maybe he could start by getting a CV together and then maybe posting if off to some of the companies that he should have hopefully researched.)
And he should be prepared to move as I doubt that these jobs are 10 in penny in any places but the big cities

Unemployed, Uneducated and Looking for a Job!?
I am almost 19, Unemployed and have very less education also I do not have any School/dimploma paper's with me. I just want to Post my Resume on the Net and see if I can find a part time / full time job in UAE (dubai, sharjah, ajman) Any advise or help would be nice.
P.s. I posted this Yesterday also but didn't get any much of a good reply, people do not tell me to go back to school I have my reasons. And I live in UAE (United Arab Emirates) I dont mind even being a Waitress but I don't know where to find a Job with lack of Education.
Unemployed, Uneducated and Looking for a Job!?
Wow, I wish I could help you, but I don't know of your countries educational policies %26amp; what you can do, or how far you can go.
Waitressing is always an option, but just know beforehand that it is hard work, you always have money in your pocket, so it's very difficult to go back to a "normal" job later in life. Maybe you could get a g.e.d., then look into online colleges. You might even be able to enroll in some overseas. Good luck.

Reply:Apply for a job on a cruise ship, either in the Meditranean (sp) or the Caribbean. Find the names of the cruise companies and check out their "carrer" or "job" link and see if there's something you could do. With that type of job, they'll pay you, feed you, you'll have a bed to sleep on and on your days off you get to tour the city or island the ship is visiting with a bunch of your co-workers. You'll have fun. You'll work very hard, (because I think they have you work 60 hours or so), but you can save your money for college or get your GED, possibly online while you're working for the cruise ship! I know in the Caribbean, the cruise ship people all come from different backgrounds, Romania I remember one of our servers was from. He was saving his money for the six month stint he was working to bring back to his family...saving up money to buy a house. If you do go that route, don't be picky about what job they might want you to do because once you start working there, you can always ask to be transfered to another job. Carnival would be a fun ship to cruise on for a person your age.
Wish you the best. I bet if they hire you, they would pay your plane ticket too. Perhaps try a ship in the Med. first., since it'll be closer to your home. Good luck!
Like the person's remarks above mine, send him what you would write to the cruise ship people when looking for a job and he'll fix it up so everything will read okay. Perhaps get a good picture of yourself that you may want to send to the cruise line too along with your application, even though it won't ask for one. And let them know you're in good physical shape, that's if you are not overweight.
Wish you the best!

Can a employer stop you looking for a job over the internet?
Gosh sakes, YES! An employer is paying you to work, not to surf the net for whatever purposes. Even if online access is provided, this resource is generally supplied for office productivity, not for personal use. Plus, if you are seeking employment by submitting resumes, etc, you're only showing your current employer that you have no interest in working for them.
Be careful of this because monitored programming can show your surfing habits, which your boss can review. Don't risk a viable reference if you should acquire another job either. Surf on your own time, besides your boss can easily justify your dismissal with your personal computer habits. ~My best to you!

There are plenty of potential issues for youngsters in work, many of them law-related, parents are required to be careful about that. There is plenty of assistance from the website in the box below on this issue, they also have assistance for all people who are looking for work, or who are required to change careers.
Reply:My friend suggested the Army. But again, that is a HUGE commitment and you need to talk to your parents about it. There is always a job available for you to explore. Not only that, you will be a lot stronger than you were before and a lot more mature. The retail market is having a hard time hiring now because of the economy, so your best bet now is probably the Army. You will also get free housing and free food and cash allowences depending on your performance and they encourage everyone to do their best. Hopefully i helped. I hate giving people the wrong information.
so any suggestions will help:)

The retail market is having a hard time hiring now because of the economy, so your best bet now is probably the Army. You will also get free housing and free food and cash allowences depending on your performance and they encourage everyone to do their best. Hopefully i helped. I hate giving people the wrong information.
I am looking for a good work from home job.?
I want to find a job that I can do from home. I have a 6 month old and need to go back to work soon but can not afford daycare. If anyone can point me in the direction of a place to find a legitimate job I would be very thankful.
I am looking for a good work from home job.?
Hi! You should never pay anyone to have a JOB from home. If someone is offering employment and
asking for money then it is a scam. However, a HOME BUSINESS is different. If you and I decided
to open up our own coffee shop then there would be start up costs right? It's the same for home
businesses. You work for yourself and the income potential is unlimited. Not to mention the
great people you will meet and the fun you will have along the way. You have to be sure you
choose something you are passionate about. You can market makeup, candles, health products, etc.
I chose to help people save money on health care. There are many many people that need medical,
vision, or dental benefits. 56 million Americans do not have coverage. Even more need a dental
plan.
If you would like to own your own business helping people save money on health care, please

You get paid weekly through check or through Epassporte. There are weekly incentive bonuses, and cash and prize contests. There is a very generous cash referral program. You can set your own schedule and hours. There is a huge support group, and many tools to get you started and all the tools are free. There is personal 1-on-1 training with the owner, Melissa. It is free to get started, you don't need to spend any money to get into it. I'm 18 and had no money to get started, this job has been perfect.

Reply:try http://apply.westathome.com/ This is to be a phone agent for major companies such as Sprint or T-mobile, but instead of working in their call center, you work from home, and they pay you per minute of call time with their customers. You don't pay anything to do it, but you are considered self employed. You also have to have a quiet house, so make sure your baby is on a schedule that you will know what times you could be available.

Where can I find a job? List some for me please.
I live in Nashville,Tennesee and I'm looking for a job. I'm 15 years old.?
Kroger, Publix, Food Lion, most IGAs, Sonic, McDonald's, Hardee's, Burger King, Chic-Fil-A, Taco Bell, most full-service restaurants, municipal parks and many, many others.
Many businesses are individually owned so the owner/operator/franchisee set their own policies on the employment of minors. just apply the worse that can happen is you don't get hired.
for info about hours you can work, work permit(Tennessee does not require work permits), job suggestions, interview information etcetera go to: http://www.youthrules.dol.gov
there are links for each state with info for employers, educators, parents and TEENS
at 14 or older you can work in an:
office,
grocery store,
retail store,
restaurant,
lodging facilities,
movie theater,
baseball park,
municipal parks(city or county),
amusement park, or
gasoline service station just to name a few鈥︹€︹€︹€︹€︹€?
when you go dress neat, clean, and appropriately for the business, be polite and ask for an application and the appropriate time to bring it back. you will need references so talk to teachers, clergy, coaches, anyone you have done casual labor for, friends parents etcetera be sure to ask if you can use them as a reference and let them know to expect calls from prospective employers.
you always have the options of casual labor(working for an individual):
You can mow lawns and other yard work(as casual labor only)
You can clean houses(as casual labor only)
You can wash cars(as casual labor only)
You can Tutor(as casual labor only)
You can work as a pet-sitter/dog-walker(as casual labor only)
You can assist the elderly.(as casual labor only)

Can you receive unemployment benifits and socialsecurity while looking for a new job?
If you receive unemployment benefits you MUST look for another job.
If you were receiving ss before you will continue to receive it.
Good Luck
Can you receive unemployment benifits and socialsecurity while looking for a new job?
If you have a lay off slip you can apply for unemployment. You cannot apply for SS unless you are over 65 or disabled.
Reply:Social Security goes off of what you are making and your age.
There are different kinds of SS and when you can collect it.
Such as disability you can get up to $800 per month and be any age.
And you can only work so many hours per year.
because you really can't live off of SS.
You did put into unemployment, I don't see why not.?

Looking for Supply Chain Job in Thailand?
I am 40 years old english speaking MS in Mathematics with more than 17 years experience in this field all in multinationals looking for supply chain and or logistics related job in Thailand. Can i find one that suits me?
Looking for Supply Chain Job in Thailand?
You've come to right place to ask your question. You might try
this website: http://www.jobjob.co.th/
It's a website here in Thailand where employers list job openings and you can also post your resume. The Bangkok Post classified section also list jobs from foreign and local companies, although I'm not sure if the listings are as extensive online as they are in the actual newspaper. You might also check The Nation, another English language newspaper. I'm sure there are many other avenues you can explore, hopefully someone else can better inform you. Good luck.

Iam 14 years old almost 15 and iam looking for a job, where can i find one?
There are many ways you can earn money. I babysit and I get paid very well. But I think you have to be 13-14 to start.
My Rates
1-2 kids ~ $5.00/hour
Each additional child ~ $1.25/hour
*When you are babysitting a baby under 10 months old, you should ask to be paid a bit more than your regular charge, since you must give more attention, change the baby, feed the baby, and put the baby to bed.
Another Idea is to have a bake sale/ lemonade stand. Me and my sisters baked all week, made poster signs and decided how much we should charge for each baking good. Any age is perfect for this job!
Another good job is to start a walking dogs for neighbors that have dogs. You can either put up posters around town, or hand out fliers to people you know that have dogs. I would charge 5 dollars per dog.
Another good job is to wash cars, or open a car wash buisness with friends for a few days, mow the lawn, shovel drive ways in the winter, and help people clean there house that might need help.
You could also work at fast food restaurtants, or grocery stores too.
Iam 14 years old almost 15 and iam looking for a job, where can i find one?
go look around or go to ur favert place to hang out like in a mall or w/e and ask them about a job there.
Reply:The best job to get at your age is probably around the malls. Since you are quite young, there's less intimidation made in the mall.
If you have a strong interest somewhere, try to pursue it. For example, if you enjoy kitchen work ask the food court people if they have any opportunity available as waiter or kitchen hand. If your interest is in fashion ask a fashion retail shop that targets your age group or the younger market.
This is one way of asking.
"Hi, I'm X, I'm looking for a part time job. I'm really keen to work in this shop. Is there any opportunity available?"
There's never a harm in asking. Good on you for looking for it this early. Good Luck to u.
Reply:most job only hire 16 years (i know the law might say that youngest to work can be 14 but still its a little hard to find a job at that age) now in your age the best bet is ti try to work at a restuant to like wash dishes or something ....and i dont mean like Mcdonnals the best bet is to look for a resturant thats not really a franchise.....GOOD LUCK but i say wait untill your 16 or 18 because you dont really want much pressure on you while in school........like i said GOOD LUCK!

What should i do when looking for a job?
i know for a fact that my previous employer will give me a bad reference
What should i do when looking for a job?
Depending on how many jobs you've had and how long you held this one, although you have to list this one, try to focus on good recommendations from the previous employers. If this is your first job that you're leaving, learn from the mistake(s) and try not to make them again. As you may know, the basic thing required for most jobs is a resume. Be honest when you give your reason for leaving. If it was an unfortunate circumstance between yourself and your last employer and especially if you get an interview and the interviewer asks, tell them what you did wrong and what you've gained, as a lesson, from your mistake(s). Don't try to be impressive--phony balony crap can be spotted a mile. Always be honest and sincere. It will always take you far.

I'm looking for a great job in business, what would you recommend?
I just got my G.E.D not long ago and I haven't decided what kind of occupation I wanted to major in. What's a good job in the business field? How much does it pays? How long do I have to go to school for? Is it worth it? I hope you guys are able to help me ^.^
I'm looking for a great job in business, what would you recommend?
Accountant, about $35,000 to start and after seven to ten years experience, $100,000 or more is possible.
Educational requirements: Minimum of a bachelor's degree (120 semester credit hours) CPA requirements for most states are now 150 semester credit hours. So, you can become an accountant once you get your bachelor's degree, but you'll need to continue in school. You might as well get a Master's degree.
In my opinion, stay away from the associate's degree programs in accounting. Those will only prepare you for a bookkeeping job. Typically, bookkeepers will earn $25,000 to $35,000 to start. Bookkeepers with five to ten years experience will only earn $35,000 to $45,000. There isn't much upward movement in the bookkeeper position.
Good luck

In my opinion, stay away from the associate's degree programs in accounting. Those will only prepare you for a bookkeeping job. Typically, bookkeepers will earn $25,000 to $35,000 to start. Bookkeepers with five to ten years experience will only earn $35,000 to $45,000. There isn't much upward movement in the bookkeeper position.
Good luck
I am looking for a new teaching job. Besides mailing resume, should I also go around and meet principals?
I have taught first grade for seven years.
I am looking for a new teaching job. Besides mailing resume, should I also go around and meet principals?
What state are you in? I've worked in two different states and the approach to this has been very different. In Missouri, if you contacted principals directly, you were basically "black flagged" and told to go through HR. In Texas, I compare the job hunting experience to stalking!
I'd ask other's from your state to see what is typically acceptable. If they tell you it's common to approach the principals directly...I'd say STALK THEM! Send them emails reminding them of your qualifications...always attach your resume. Take a hard copy of your resume to them in a nice package. I had a cover, letter of interest, resume, teaching philosophy, letters of recommendation, copies of my transcripts, teaching certificate, awards...etc..binding in a comb bound booklet. It always made quite an impression.
I have a friend who couldn't even get an interview with her "normal" resume...when she redid it like what I described above, she had districts calling her daily....call it a coincidence...but it's all about presentation.
Good luck

Meeting principals-- briefly without taking too much of their time-- is the BEST way to get an interview. If you depend on Human Resource offices to sort through your paperwork and call you, your odds of getting an interview are far slimmer. Most HR/Personnel offices have an overflow of candidates-- most never make it to the principal's desk at hiring time.
Most principals have direct control over who is hired (not HR offices). They can easily request your paperwork when it comes time to interview candidates. If the principal has met you, he/she will likely pull your file.
Go in and introduce yourself. Describe your experiences (7 years exeprience is a big plus). Hand him/her a nice personalized note with a copy of your resume.
There's an eBook about getting Teaching Jobs that emphasizes the benefits of connecting directly with principals. It's "Guide to Getting the Teaching Job of Your Dreams" http://www.iwantateachingjob.com . It also has Common Teacher Interview Questions, Interview Advice, How to Find Teaching Jobs and Stuff Like that. Maybe the book can help you.
Best of luck with your job hunt! With experience like yours, I'm sure you'll be successful in finding a new job. :)
Reply:I do not think it would be a bad idea to go and introduce yourself to local principals and let them know you are here if they need you. Sort of like an on call sub teacher. Just to get your foot in the door.
Reply:The personnel dept. usually screens a selection of teachers from which a principal can choose. So you usually have to go through the personnel director. She/He is the person you might want to see.
Reply:ya sure.

I am looking for a way of estimating a house painting job. I do handyman work and I have an exterior job.?
I have never estimated and exterior job before and I need to know is it done by the foot, by the coats you have to do. I need some help on this estimation.
I am looking for a way of estimating a house painting job. I do handyman work and I have an exterior job.?
its quite simple my friend, you measure the size of each exterior wall, total up the sizes and lets say you have a size of 50 square metres.
you charge so much per square metre for preperation,so much for undercoating(x two if required)and so much for the finishing paint, add on time and materials for the wooden window cills and fix the final price,
if i was doing 50 square metres i would charge 200 for the undercoat,300 for the finish,100 for the cills, and 100 for the preperation work that is very important, materials are additional at cost as is any scaffold required..
good luck

After appling thousands of gallons of paint in my time, I have learned a few things. Initially,,,or even by choice, someone might get a break from me. If you check my recent answers you see I answered a similar Q.
Certainly as a trades person, of quality, who wants to develop a decent reputation, and client base, you need to be fair to the customer and yourself.
I base my bids on a few factors,,,with experience. I charge anywhere from $25 to $60 per hour depending on those factors,,,IE: Design of the house, painting over roofs for example. Access to all areas needing paint. repairs to degraded siding etc., Equipment I might have to rent, buy, or charge to use in depreciation. Help I might enlist or hire, and sometimes the customer wanting to be my foreman...No offense to them BTW.
Examples:
A mobile home: Average single wide, 14 x 60. I bid everything at 40 hours plus,,, @ $25 per hour that calculates to $1000. Certainly I've painted them for less, but I am almost never at a job for the "at bid hours."
A house, 1200 to 2500 sq. ft. with minimal prep issues, such as care for plants, raw stone, driveways, etc, will likely be in the $2000 to $4000 range.
I painted a 6000 sq. ft. 3 or 4 level house in Seattle, using spray, for $6000. I happened to know the person, and gave them, a break.
The issue is not so much what the competition charges, although that's good info to have. It's more about what do you think your time and effort is worth, where are your jobs coming from, what are the costs of materials and labor, what will that market bear, and in the end, will you not only offer a quality job, be willing to return for any reasonable issues, and expect in your work to be given a decent reference that will generate more business and repeat business as well.
Certainly you have options as well as your customers. If you see that a job will be intense, add to your bid in a reasonable manner. If you NEED to establish a client base and references, you can do it in some level of charity. Advertising,,,especially by example and word of mouth is as valuable as any check you'll get.
You need not underbid everyone else either, but use caution in overbidding any contractors who have been in the business for any lenght of time, and consider, again, what you're willing to settle for with regard to income, versus expenditures of materials, time, labor, etc.

Reply:Are you going to use an airless sprayer? It is worth the masking involved. I just did the exterior of a 1100 sf house plus a detached 700 sf garage. Pressure wash, trim and walls in 7 days with three workers, $4000. The job went very well.
Reply:Some advise for you would be...make sure when you give your estimate you are clear about what that estimate includes. My husband did a job for someone that was suppose to be just painting the interior of an appartment. The man he was doing the job for was suppose to wash the walls, take down any shelving, and do all the staining himself, and my husband was suppose to have a month to do the job. He did not include any of this in his estimate. When my husband got there the man said I need this job done in three days, there were more rooms than what my husband thought he needed done, he had him also paint all cupboards and cabinets, he had to wash all the walls first, and do all the staining, and on top of that half way through the job the man changed his mind on the color of all the closets in the place and had him change them. My husband got taken for a serious ride, losing a lot of time and money! He does not paint for a living, just wanted to help someone out and make a bit of extra money. So in closing, make sure your estimate states EXACTLY what you plan to do included in that cost, how many coats, and what jobs the owner will need to have done for you before you get there. Good luck!
