i know for a fact that my previous employer will give me a bad reference
What should i do when looking for a job?
Depending on how many jobs you've had and how long you held this one, although you have to list this one, try to focus on good recommendations from the previous employers. If this is your first job that you're leaving, learn from the mistake(s) and try not to make them again. As you may know, the basic thing required for most jobs is a resume. Be honest when you give your reason for leaving. If it was an unfortunate circumstance between yourself and your last employer and especially if you get an interview and the interviewer asks, tell them what you did wrong and what you've gained, as a lesson, from your mistake(s). Don't try to be impressive--phony balony crap can be spotted a mile. Always be honest and sincere. It will always take you far.
