If you have a lay off slip you can apply for unemployment. You cannot apply for SS unless you are over 65 or disabled.
Reply:Social Security goes off of what you are making and your age.


There are different kinds of SS and when you can collect it.


Such as disability you can get up to $800 per month and be any age.


And you can only work so many hours per year.


because you really can't live off of SS.





You did put into unemployment, I don't see why not.?
