no highschool or ged diploma. I would like a job in clerical work. I do have a high school diploma.

I'm sorry to break this to you, but in order to get $20 an hour you have to have experience to get $20. A lot of places that do clerical work want people with experience with the computer and can type certain words a minute besides answering the phone. look around.
Reply:A clerical job with no experience and only a high school degree will start at $8-$12 an hour depending on where you live. You don't have any special skills that someone will pay more for. You might also apply for civil service jobs as they offer benefits and often have opportunities for on the job training. My son with a BA degree, corporate work experience every summer, and top notch computer skills is not being offered $20 an hour. That's over $40,000 a year. If you can get an apprenticeship position in a trade like plumbing or sheet metal work, you can eventually make some good money without a college degree.
